Rabbit vibrators online have been conceded to be the best animal-shaped vibrator that took the world by storm, making it the top-seller among sex gadgets to date. It changed much of the women’s masturbation habits and with it the total sex toy industry.
Among the developments that the rabbit had introduced to the industry was the availability of the dual functions of stimulating the clitoris (which many women want, some having orgasms by only that action) and the stimulation of the vagina which simulates actual sexual intercourse.
Wands and massagers stimulate the clitoris. Dildos do the part of a man’s penis by penetration. Rabbits do both actions at the same time, thus doubling a woman’s pleasure and doubling the sexual intensity.
The following is an abridged historical timeline of the invention and the various developments of the sex gadget.
1983
Vibratex was the company that brought the dual-action vibrator (both external and internal) to the U.S. Since the manufacturers were from Japan, the animal shape was to circumvent the country’s strict anti-obscenity laws.
This is also the debut of the Kangaroo, the Turtle and the Beaver in the market, all of which also have dual-action vibrators.
In 1997, a version (Rabbit Pearl) was introduced with a separate battery pack attachment.
1998 was the year HBO, the producer of the hit series Sex and the City, visited a sex shop in New York and checked the best-selling sex toy. In no time, they met with the Vibratex people.
They sent their Aug.2 script to Vibratex to ensure the toy was properly depicted. More women found out more about the Rabbit with that episode.
1999
Copycats of the Rabbit burst into the scene capitalizing on its popularity, especially with the HBO mention. This was also the year when online shopping took off.
By then, buying sex toys can be done discreetly, and the sex toy industry boomed. An adult toy store in Britain reportedly sold more than a million units of Rabbits in just a year when they started their company.
2005
An actress of another sexy hit series, Desperate Wives, further boosted the Rabbit in a magazine interview. Reportedly, she gave away Rabbit vibrators to all her girl friends. There was another 30% spike in sales in the same British online company.
In 2006, Oprah Winfrey’s magazine, O, billed the gadget as the “Rolls Royce of Sex Toys”.
2008
Another sex toy maker added the Rabbit into its sleek sex toys, borrowing the Vibratex design, but making the toy all in white. It became another hit together with the other copycats who also did the white version.
2013
As of last count, it had been reported that Rabbits are selling over five million dual-action vibrators (some call it “twice as nice” toys) every year since. There are also different iterations now in different shapes (the Dolphin and the Butterfly).
However, the original rabbit vibrators online from Vibratex are still number one with continued manufacturing innovations (cordless battery packs, more vibration options). 2014 was their 30th year anniversary.
